Visitor Information
At Valsayn Medical, our highest priority is the safety of our staff and patients. To ensure this is maintained during Covid 19, we have implemented the social distancing measures. We are also operating increased cleaning and infection control measures between patient treatments.
We understand that having family and friends present can be integral to your recovery. Our guidelines welcome your visitors, while ensuring you have time to rest and recover and to allow our team to properly care for you.
Visiting hours for inpatients are 9:00AM to 11:00AM and 3:00PM to 6:00PM. Patients with unique needs and vulnerabilities – such as those in intensive care, in the maternity ward, or in the nursery – will have their own Visiting Hours. Please inquire with the Head Nurse.
Patients are limited to two visitors at a time unless special arrangements are made with the nursing staff. Please note that the Chief Medical Officer and the Head Nurse may further restrict the number of visitors and/or time of visitation if either is thought to be in the patient’s best interest.
Visitors are required to sign in and out at reception and are restricted to visiting the ward where the patient is staying. For safety reasons, and to protect patient privacy, no visitors are allowed in the operating theatres or recovery areas.
Where patients are in private rooms, they may have one family member or significant other stay overnight in the room, if the nursing staff and physician agree that it is in the best interest of the patient. Overnight visitors are required to follow hospital regulations and directions from nursing staff or other hospital staff.
Where patients are in isolated, visitors will be guided through precautionary measures to be taken before an in-person visit can take place.
Given the extended visiting hours we offer, you may see ward cleaning and routine patient care in progress. Please cooperate with hospital staff as we care for our patients.
Please note:
Valsayn Medical is a non-smoking environment
No alcohol may be consumed in the hospital or on its grounds
No eating is permitted in the lobby or in the wards.
If bringing food or snacks for the patient, these need to be approved by the attending physician or the Head Nurse.
Visitors are expected to be mindful of others, including by speaking softly while in the wards.
Cell phones should be kept on vibrate or on silent mode during your visit.
Visitors who are not following the rules or who are exhibiting disruptive behaviour will be required to exit the ward and/or the hospital.
